Allergy & Asthma Center of Northeast Ohio provides family oriented care for the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases and asthma to patients of all ages as well as certain pulmonary diseases in children.
Rajeev Kishore and Ravi Karnani offer patients the benefit of a family oriented practice providing care to both adults and children. Dr. Kishore is board certified in both Pediatrics and Allergy & Immunology. Dr. Karnani is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology. In addition Mary George is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner. The staff is fully trained to make your visits as pleasant and comprehensive as possible. Our office was voted a "Top 10 Office" for allergy care by Northeast Ohio Live Magazine in 2002.

Rajeev Kishore, MD. Dr. Kishore grew up in New Dehli, India and received a B.A. from the University of Dehli. He graduated from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Dehli, India in 1974. He completed his Pediatric Internship and Residency at Akron Children's Hospital in Akron, Ohio where he was Chief Pediatric resident in 1978. He was a staff pediatrician at Akron Children's Hospital from 1978 to 1982 and Assistant Director of Emergency Services and Director of the Poison Control Center at Akron Children's Hospital until 1982. He then completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Cleveland Clinic in 1982 returning to private practice in 1984.
Dr. Kishore is the Division Director of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Akron Children's Hospital. He serves on several committees at Akron Children's Hospital. He has been the past President of the Medical Staff and past Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center at Akron Children's Hospital. He is also on the Board of Directors for Akron Children's Hospital Foundation.
Dr. Kishore is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine and plays an active role in the education of pediatric and family practice residents. He has privileges at Akron Children's Hospital and Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Dr. Kishore is married and has two children. In addition to practicing medicine he plays a great round of golf.
Dr. Kishore was honored to be chosen by his peers as Top Doc in Allergy and Immunology by Northeast Ohio Live Magazine in September 2002 and has received two Golden Apple Awards for teaching from the pediatric residents at Akron Children's Hospital.
Ravi M. Karnani, MD. Dr. Karnani was born and grew up in Parma, Ohio. He received his B.S. from Kent State University in 1992. He graduated from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1996. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Summa Health Systems here in Akron in 1999. He then completed his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2001.
He joined the Allergy and Asthma Center Practice in December of 2001. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology.
Dr. Karnani has privileges at Summa Health Systems, Akron General Medical Center, Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital, Barberton Citizen's Hospital, and Akron Children's Hospital.
Dr. Karnani is a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and is active in the teaching of allergy and immunology to internal medicine and family practice residents from Summa Health Systems, Akron General and Akron Children's Hospital.
Dr. Wasserbauer is a native of Lakewood, Ohio and joined our practice in July 2009. She attended Magnificat High School in Rocky River, Ohio. She attended the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate and prior to entering medical school worked as a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units in both the Cleveland area as well as in the Philadelphia area. She attended medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Prior to her entrance into her Allergy and Immunology Fellowship program at SUNY Buffalo, she worked as a General Pediatrician and in Pediatric Emergency Medicine in the Cleveland area. During her Fellowship she attended the Clinical Immunology Society School in Miami, Florida to gain further expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of primary immune deficiency diseases.
She has been involved with both laboratory and clinical research and is the author of medical journal and textbook publications pertaining to immune deficiencies and allergic diseases.
Dr. Wasserbauer and her husband, Daryl, have a son, Jack and English bulldog named Diesel and are happy to be back in the Northeast Ohio area.
Mary George, RN, MSN, CPNP. Mary graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in 2001. She was employed by Akron Children's Hospital for six years, during which time she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing at Kent State University. At Children's Hospital, Mary gained experience in caring for children of various ages suffering from respiratory illnesses, including asthma. She was also employed by Akron University as an adjunct clinical faculty member in the School of Nursing and supervised senior level nursing students during their pediatric rotation through Akron Children's Hospital. She has excellent knowledge of acute illnesses in children and a strong interest in providing preventative teaching for our allergy and asthma patients.
